Where to Brunch in Bangkok: 6 Spots Worth the Trip Across Town
Bangkok does mornings on its own terms: iced coffee against 35-degree heat, eggs Benedict a few doors down from a 70-year-old gold shop, sourdough proofing above a Charoen Krung shophouse. The places below aren't just good plates — they sit inside the city's most walkable, design-led pockets, where one flat white easily turns into an afternoon of wandering. Here's where to start the day.
Sarnies Bangkok
Step into a restored Bang Rak shophouse of exposed brick and a steep timber staircase, and you'll understand why the laptops appear by 9am. The kitchen runs an Australian breakfast through a Thai filter — think a breakfast sausage muffin tuned with local spice — and roasts its own coffee, so the flat white actually lives up to the room.
The standout was hands-down the Thai-style breakfast sausage muffin — familiar Aussie comfort food, elevated with Thai flavours that actually work.

Luka Cafe
Just off Silom, Luka pairs a fan-cooled outdoor courtyard with a menu that leans fresh and inventive — steak salads, shakshuka, juices that read like a cocktail list. It fills up fast and a service charge nudges it past café territory, so come early and treat it as a sit-down meal rather than a quick coffee.
Stumbled upon it looking for something fresh — the Thai chimichurri beef salad was outstanding, and the ginger in the Simply Red juice was exactly what I needed.

White Dragon Cafe & Bistro
The most surprising entry sits right on Yaowarat Road, an air-conditioned reprieve from Chinatown's market crush with a bright upstairs room most people miss. All-day breakfast is the draw — fried-chicken eggs Benedict, fluffy pancakes, clearly labelled gluten-free plates — at prices that undercut the Sukhumvit set.
The banana coffee was excellent and the fried-chicken eggs Benedict was delicious — I came back the next day for the pancakes.

Lazy Daisy Brunch and Bar
Tucked into Sukhumvit Soi 16 below the Gardina Asoke hotel, Lazy Daisy is the one that doesn't end at lunch — the kitchen opens at 6am and the bar keeps going till midnight, with board games on hand and Western plates carrying a clear Thai accent. Come for eggs and a flat white, stay for a beef cheek and a glass of something later.
The Carbonara was delicious, super rich and flavourful — I usually avoid Carbonara because it tends to be too greasy, but this one was perfect.

Breakfast Story
If you want a sure thing, this homegrown mini-chain delivers Western comfort breakfast with bottomless coffee and portions built for a full day of sightseeing. The Eleven branch off Sukhumvit Soi 11 is the pick of the litter for its eggs Benedict and herb-roasted potatoes, but you'll find reliable branches at Asok, Phrom Phong and Phloen Chit too — handy whichever station you surface from.
I had the eggs Benedict — one of the best I've had — and the breakfast potatoes, easily the best I've ever eaten.

The Island Bangkok
Over in the old town near Samsen, The Island blurs the line between brunch and all-day Thai kitchen, swinging from smoothie bowls and tomato omelettes at breakfast to green curry and mango sticky rice well past midnight. Grab a corner table for the street-watching and keep it simple — the Thai classics and fresh juices are where it shines.
The mango sticky rice was perfectly sweet with creamy coconut rice and fresh mango, and the Thai cold milk tea was rich and perfectly balanced.
